    Whew, hasn't been an update in a while. I strongly recommend that everyone go check out the Avalon Forum. It's been running well for a bit more than a week now (with the occassional brief server outage). In it is some discussion on Avalon's current "hibernation," some potential guest artist projects,and a running collaborative fan fiction. I'll also see about putting up some new stuff at the top of this page shortly.

    Avalon continues to flounder as I'm unable to draw any new comics. I'd sound like a broken record if I tried to explain it... so all I can say is that I don't know when any new comics will be posted. I know that I said Avalon would be a lot more consistent after the hiatus in April, but it hasn't been so. Trust me, I feel awful about it... but, if you want to try making me feel worse, feel free to use e-mail or the Forum. As always, my quest to make everything as good as it used to be continues.

    I had a Guest Artist Sunday comic by Mizuki all lined up for today, except now that it's time to update the site with it, my e-mail account is completely inaccessible, and I realize I never saved a local copy of the comic. /:-. First, I will kick myself repeatedly... and then I will wait until my e-mail comes back, at which time I'll post today's guest comic.

    Yep, it's what everyone's been waiting for... my first missed comic since Avalon's return. :-) I've got a half-drawn strip here, but I've been running on very little sleep this week, and now I'm starting to feel ill (which in the past has proven to be a bad combination). So erring on the side of caution for now.
    Meanwhile, go read C.ulture Shocked, where I have been cameoed, along with a certain Acadian known for his hockey fandom. ;-) And at the very least, check out the Flash-animated conclusion!

    First of all, thanks to everyone for checking out Avalon after its appearance in the Keenspot newsbox yesterday... and especially to those who came back today. ;-) Avalon has been gone for a month, and many may not have known it was back until yesterday. If anyone wants to spread the word that Avalon is back (through linkage, message boards, word of mouth, etc.), that'd be cool. :-)
    Secondly, something I probably should have pointed out yesterday to avoid confusion... :-) Not only was Avalon on hiatus for a month, but it was behind a month when that hiatus began. So the comics are currently backdated by two months. At the very least, this gives you a good idea of what the current date is in the strip (ie. it's still early March in-story)... but also, when I get around to putting them in their proper spots in the archive, it'll flow a lot better. In the meantime, I've added the date the latest comic was posted, so refer to it if you think you've entered a time warp or something.

    Everyone should go check out Keenspot's Bikeeni Summer 2002 event... you might see a familiar face over there. :-)
    Also, the Keenspot message boards seem to be stable (and relatively speedy) as of the time I post this, but I'm not sure whether the maintenance and upgrades are finished yet. So we can continue to use LiveJournal's avalon_readers community for now.

    Round 1 of the hockey playoffs ended last night, at just about the latest possible time it could have. Because of that, 2nd Round entry will end at 11:00pm Eastern on Thursday, May 2 (48 hours after Round 1 ended). The deadline comes shortly after the first two games of Round 2... but don't wait too long, if only to prevent technical difficulties from making your picks come in too late.
    And if you missed the 1st Round, it's not too late to get in on the action! Register now!
