Luckily for me, things turned out relatively well yesterday. Basically, I get to keep my job. :-) So I can go back to drawing comics without worrying about employment.
Anyways, good news regarding the book: ordering has resumed! And not only that, but Canadian shipping costs have been reduced dramatically, and shipping is now available to 36 countries around the world! Click here to order your copy!
Oh yeah... happy Hallowe'en, and stuff. :-)

Due to some potentially unfortunate circumstances, I wasn't able to draw a new comic for today. I'll have some more info on this tomorrow.

Big thanks to aki^-1 for this week's Guest Artist Sunday! And despite the theme of this one, I feel good enough now to continue drawing regularly. :-)
And didja remember to set your clocks back an hour?

Well, since I haven't broken everyone's trust yet and shown myself to be a highly unreliable artist, I can't provide a new comic today like I said I would. /:-. Right now I can add writer's block to my growing list of "issues." So I'm going to say that there won't be any new comics until Monday... but there ought to be a Guest Artist Sunday this week. Speaking of which, there's only been about two submissions all month, so if you've been thinking of drawing up a guest comic, I encourage you to do so. :-)
And today's apology fan art is brought to us by mzacher!

My inability to keep up with Avalon's schedule continues. :-P There should definitely be a new comic up tomorrow, and I'll probably have a new one up on Saturday as well.
In the meantime Tae Jensen gives us this awesome rendition of what Alison does best: observe. :-)
Also... check out North... if you haven't yet, you should be delightfully surprised. Also... Sporkman deserves your attention...

I spent the weekend out-of-town, and I got back stupidly late on Sunday. :-P So after unpacking and feeling really friggin' tired, I decided I should get some sleep and start fresh tomorrow. In the meantime, Sylvan Migdal gives us this liberal alternate reality. Check out his comic, A God's Life.
And to anyone who missed Jen Aside's escapades from last week, they're right here: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

First off, there was a technical issue with the site yesterday (the issue being that the server did exactly what I told it to, instead of realizing I had made an error and fixing it for me), such that even though I had completed and uploaded the strip at the usual time, but it didn't appear on the front page. And I only noticed it after noon yesterday, which means some people may not have seen it. Click here to be sure.
And next, I'm going to be taking the rest of this week off. My department just changed locations within Ottawa, which results in an additional 20-30 minutes being added to my commute. Add to that the hectic nature of having to get our equipment moved and configured with a project deadline over our heads, and it's getting a little hairy. So I'm taking a breather. Here to fill in is... Jen Aside. :-) Huge thanks to her for filling in for the rest of this week! Now go check out her comic, SGP Presents!

I apologize for falling behind by two days again. :-P Things are getting kind of rough for me again, and I need a bit of a break. There will be a new comic tomorrow (but no more than one), and likely a new one on Saturday again.
Meanwhile, here's some fan art by the talented Sara Lynn. I'm not sure if she wanted this posted here or not, but there it is. :-)

Well, I'm all out of Guest Artist Sunday comics, so I had to resort to this! It's a screenshot from an online Pictionary-style game called InkLink. You can see a bigger version of that screenshot here. You can also see the Alison and Cecil drawings I did.

Okay, I swear this is the last of the Leafs bashing. For now. ;-)
Monday, October 8, 2001
Well, this has been a surprisingly eventful Thanksgiving weekend for me... I got home pretty late Sunday night, and there was no chance of me getting today's comic done, let alone the *two* I had originally intended. There will be a new comic up tomorrow... and hopefully I'll get six in this week, to bring things back on schedule.
To tide everyone over for a day, there we have a guest comic written by coldacid and drawn by Klaus Petersen.

Andrew Hoffman, the guy who draws the Keenspace comic 0000 Agent, brings us today's Guest Artist Sunday submission!

Seeing as how a lot of stuff is going on this weekend, and that I have yet to be able to finish a comic before 4:00am this week, I had to forego today's strip in order to get some decent sleep. I apologize for the delay, and give you some upcoming Cartoon University instead. Oh, and if there are any Leafs fans out there... it's no joke. Your team sucks. ;-)

Huge thanks go to David Willis for preparing today's Keenspot Newsbox image for Avalon! Go check out his wildly popular strip, It's Walky!

I neglected to mention on Friday that there would be a new comic up on Saturday. So you can see both that one and today's up above.
