    My apologies for having no new comic today. I'm having difficulty both in coming up with a new storyline, and with getting up in the morning. :-) So today's comic will be deferred until tomorrow (and with any luck, there'll be two comics in one day this week).

    I thought I might draw some attention to the Canadian Red Cross after the events in the United States last Tuesday. They have been supporting roughly 20 000 people stranded in Canada after their flights were redirected out of the United States. The Canadian Red Cross has also been helping people find out about friends or family in the United States who may have been affected by the events. They are prepared to provide assistance directly to the United States if the need arises. They are currently accepting donations online or by phone, at most Canadian banks, and also at Canadian Tire, 7-Eleven, and Safeway stores.
    Meanwhile, Canadian Blood Services has been swamped by donors in the past week. What they need now are for people to make appointments to donate blood several weeks from now (since blood doesn't keep forever). Not only might the United States require blood exports from Canada in the future, but blood supplies are always needed locally from day to day.

    In addition to having stayed up way too late drawing yesterday's comic, I am now suffering through a debilitating cold. Although I said there'd be two comics today, I decided I value my health enough to get some sleep. The "added value" here is that you get a new comc on Saturday! Yeah, take it as you will. :-)
