Today marks Avalon's one-year anti-anniversary! Avalon's final strip will appear on August 30, 2002 -- exactly one year from today. I've stated for a long time that Avalon will only last until the characters graduate, and they're about to enter their final year of high school. Meanwhile, Volume 3 of Avalon will begin in a couple of weeks, and the official 2nd Anniversary will take place on November 8. Significant dates abound! :-)

Well, today I leave for CN Anime! If you want to find me, I'll be wearing an Avalon business card with my convention pass, and I'll be decked out in an Ottawa Senators jersey on Saturday. Check out this thread in the Forum for more info (as soon as the forum returns).
And I apologize to everyone who wanted to buy the Avalon book from me at the con... but my shipment hasn't arrived yet. So unfortunately, I won't have any books on hand for sale.
And if anyone is desperately needing a place to discuss the comic while the forum's down, try #avalon on IRC (on the irc.tx3.net server). Check out Gwalla's IRC guide for info on how to join.

The Avalon Forum -- along with all the Keenspot message boards -- are temporarily unavailable as they get moved over to new servers. They should be back up some time today.

Thanks to Luke Swinford for today's Guest Artist Sunday contribution! I personally like the second one the best. ;-)

Here's one for all the Frü-heads out there: Rick Healey has written a review for Moxy Früvous' album, Thornhill, for Epinions.com. The fun part is that he somehow incorporated Avalon into his review. Check it out!
And many people ave been reminding me about the 404 errors caused by the "Previous Week" link below the comic. This is due to a bug in Keenspot's archival system, which is currently being worked on. In the meantime, you can view this week's archive here.

To everyone who had ordered the Avalon book, the wait is over! The book is finally shipping (several people received theirs in the mail yesterday). Thanks to everyone for their patience while this thing got off the ground.

Freakin' Cool New Webcomic Alert: Kung Fool, a webcomic by H.S. Kim, officially restarted yesterday! He already has an archive accumulated from previous incarnations, and it was already great... but now he's making it better somehow! :-) You can also see some of Kim's frighteningly excellent work in the ongoing Soul Calibur Jam.

Big thanks to Viktor Shmagin for today's Guest Artist Sunday contribution! And to be on the safe side, that's all I'm gonna say about this one. ;-)

Hooray for Soviet revisionism! ;-) You may have noticed that the dates on the comics don't correlate to the actual present date, but that's because I've been a few weeks behind. So now that The Farewell is over, all of those comics are being shifted back a few weeks to where they're supposed to be.

Big thanks to Brian Daniel for today's Guest Artist Sunday submission! It might not make a lot of sense if you haven't visited It's Walky (especially for this escapade. ;-) ). Oh, and a little Hooper exposition as well, for anyone who actually believes he's dead. ;-)

You'll probably want to check out Framed today... that's pretty much all I can say about that. I'm sure this is revenge for *something*. ;-)

Sorry for yet another cop-out fan art day. :-) What you see up there is Helène, as Sophitia from the most phenominal and in-joke-inspiring game ever, Soul Calibur. This one was drawn by negativeZero and coloured by mzacher.
And now you can check out my recent radio and TV appearances... if you have a fast Internet connection. :-) Unfortunately, these files are rather large, but I'm not too sure how to shrink them any further (using free software, anyway. :-) ). The radio interview is in MP3 format and is 1.9 MB in size; this was done live on CBC Radio 1 Ottawa, on All In A Day for Monday, July 23. The TV news story is available in large (15.9 MB) and small (10.2 MB) versions, both in DivX format; this was from The NewRO's 6:00 news on Tuesday, July 31.
