    Well, my irresponsibility continues this week. I realize that many, many readers have been disappointed by Avalon's lack of consistency and reliability in the past two months, and all I can really do right now is apologize. I've never wanted to take a break from Avalon (especially since the story is beginning to accelerate to some very surprising levels), so I've just been trying to get by with 4 hours of sleep each day to get everything done. But despite that, I *still* can't get Avalon finished daily.
    So I'm about to try dusting off my time management skills, and see if I can't get myself back into shape. This means taking the rest of this week off. If I can find the time, I want to finish the comic for last Friday, and that would get me back on track for next week. But otherwise, I just need a decent break to figure things out.
    Once again I apologize, and hope that you won't look poorly on Avalon for its recent track record. But big things lie just around the corner, and I'm certainly not going to stop now.

    Despite what I said on Friday, I just got home after 5 straight hours of driving, and seeing as how I'm really tired and have to work today, the won't be a new comic until tomorrow. :-/
    Anime North turned out to be leegloads of fun (and tended to leave me with absoluetly no spare time in which to draw comics). Up there you can see my weekend pass, along with shameless advertising duct taped to it. :-) Below that is the cel I painted (although drawn by someone else) in the Cel Painting Workshop. And below that is my first-ever experience with a graphics tablet (provided by Saturn, who I thank profusely for giving me a place to stay over the weekend) -- it'll really only be funny if you've seen Episode 6 of a certain cartoon series (check out the Forum for clues).
    Tomorrow I'll be posting a recap of the weekend, complete with photos of the convention.

    Well, I got pretty carried away with preparing for Anime North last night, and wasn't able to draw a comic. But here's the deal: I'm going to try my darnedest to draw a whole leegin' slew of comics this weekend (it being an Avacon and all), and get back on schedule with three comics on Monday.
    In the meantime, Pauline Hewitt gives us her own take on the relationships in Avalon.

    If anyone's looking for me at Anime North this weekend, look for the big Avalon sign I'll be carrying around. :-) Your best bet would be to find me milling about the Registration table tomorrow at around 5:00pm. Also, make sure you've checked out this thread in the Forum.

    It looks like there will be no formal Avacon (Avalon convention) at Anime North this year. However, there will be many members of the Avalon community meeting there (myself included). Plans are still in the works -- keep checking the Forum for details. And remember that Anime North is taking place next weekend, May 25th to 27th, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

    First off, there's no new comic today. This puts me 4 comics behind... but I decided if I skip a week in the archive, it will instead put me one comic ahead. :-) So there will be (at least) three new comics this week, and things will resume as normal from there.
    Meanwhile, to make up for today's lack of comic, I'll announce that the Art section has been completely overhauled! There are now 109 pieces of fan art, plus a slew of guest comics and other Avalon-related pieces. So make sure to take a look at what some incredibly talented Avalon readers have been up to!
    Now, here's an important announcement to anyone who has ever submitted artwork for Avalon: please read this thread in the Forum to make sure that everything of yours is in the Art section, and is properly credited.

    You can now make your picks for the 3rd Round in the Hockey Pool. The deadline is Sunday, May 13, at 12:30 AM Eastern time (that's a half-hour past midnight, Sunday morning). The first game of Round 3 is actually at 3:00 PM EDT on Saturday, but the rules state that everyone will have at least 48 hours in which you can make your picks.
    But take note! The rules also state that there is no guarantee against server failure during the entry period. So don't wait until the last second to make your picks! You can always make your picks right away, then change them before the deadline (just use the same entry form again).
    And as always, new participants are welcome, even if you missed the 1st or 2nd Rounds!

    First, the good news... I've started my new job, which will last until August 2002. The bad news: I still have to get used to working full-time and pumping out comics simultaneously. :-) Yeah, I know I'm three days behind now... but in retrospect, this is the perfect chance to show off Nick Yu's creative/evil genius. And once you're done with that, head over to BBoCS for some more barnyard animal disco!
