Avalon has claimed a small piece of IRC... if you're ever bored, and want to chat with other fans (probably during that period between midnight and the time the latest comic strip is finally uploaded), go to #AvalonHigh on DALnet. If you need an IRC client, try mIRC for Windows.
There's also #road_waffles (on DALnet as well) for some general webcomics chat and/or discussion of Road Waffles (which has returned after a spectacular explosion at the webhost offices).

Today's comic is by Richard Gardner. He does the comic Nevermore - and by the way, that's Alison from Nevermore up there, not Alison from Avalon. :-) Thanks to Richard for this Sunday strip.
Anyone can draw a Sunday Avalon strip! Just e-mail it to me as an attachment, or send me the URL where I can find it on the web. Also, feel free to e-mail me if you'd like more info.

Poll time! 53% of you think that Phoebe's hair colour is natural, just barely beating out the 47% who think it's dyed. Among those who think it's dyed, 52% believe it was accidental.
Okay, enough of that. :-) Another census poll... I'm trying to find out what archive format people prefer - daily or weekly. Make your voice heard before I go and muck around with things. :-)
Hey, and the Links page has been updated! Finally...

Sarah (aka Esyla, aka Violet) threw together this Avalon link button. You can check out her site at http://www.geocities.com/violets19.

Announcing a new feature at Avalon... Guest Artist Sundays! Now's your chance to see what you've always wanted to see in the comic strip... the only catch is that you have to draw it! For more details, go to the Avalon Message Forum and read the posting titled "New feature for Sundays."
And there seems to be a new surprise every day now... Nevermore is showcasing some exotic locales. ;-) Go have a look-see...

[Ryan, by Aaron M. Holm]    Many thanks to Aaron M. Holm, esquire, for sending me his rendition of Ryan. I highly recommend his comic strip, Joe Average - one of those rare, intellectually humourous strips that you have to check out at least once.
And this was a surprise... take a look at today's Sit and Spin. I guess Ceilidh doesn't really have a thing for comic artists, after all. :-)

The last poll was more of a survey to guage readership patterns, and it turns out that 72% of readers visit Avalon daily. 15% of people visit even more often than that, apparantly in an attempt to catch two strips in one day or something. ;-) 10% of readers visit just once or twice a week to catch up, and the remaining 3% only stop by a couple times each month. Surprisingly, nobody chose to vote during their first and only visit to Avalon. :-)
There's no ulterior motive behind this week's poll, just trying to solve a debate in the message forum. :-) Refer to this previous Avalon strip to get a good look at Phoebe's hair colour.
And my sincere apologies for the downtime last night, but a technician had to check out my connection to finish the cleanup of the technical mess that occured a week or so ago. Thankfully, things are running just perfect now.

Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000[Coloured Avalon comic strip][Boffo Webtoon Award]
Terrence Marks, of Unlike Minerva fame, offers some excellent colouring services. Check out what he did with an old Avalon strip!
And Avalon has won another award! Many thanks to BoxJam's Doodle!

Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000[Phoebe and Ceilidh, by Kendra]
This is why Avalon fans are the best! Kendra has sent me another work of fan art, this time depicting both Ceilidh and Phoebe. Click on the thumbnail on the right to see a full-size image, or check out others' works in the Fan Art section.

Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000[Ceilidh, by Eight]
Check out this fan art of Ceilidh, by Eight (of Road Waffles fame). He claims he got bored and had some charcoal nearby. He should get bored more often. ;-) Click on the thumbnail for the full-size image, or go check out the Fan Art section under Misc.

My Internet is back up, so sometime this morning things will switch back from Washu's server to mine. I've awarded Washu a Weenie Point for helping out (and probably an hour or two of pool, as well). :-)

Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000
Things are working again! Well, the site is, anyway... my Internet's still busted. :-P However, there should be a bit less confusion around here now.
Poll time (since it's working again): last week's Valentine's poll ended prematurely, but it was pretty obvious what the final results were. :-) 31% of readers will be resorting to alcohol/video games for emotional support on Valentine's Day. In a close second at 30% was sitting around, doing nothing special. 17% are actually going to have some fun (or something along those lines), and 14% are going to wallow in a self-deprecating fashion. And having a nice, normal date is the least popular plan, taking 7%.
This week's poll is pretty base... I'm just trying to guage the fanaticism of Avalon readers. Hopefully nobdy's going to lie too much on this one. :-)

Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000
There's Friday's comic, in full-colour so as to suck up to everyone who's probably really pissed off by now. :-) But just to reiterate, things are really screwed up at the Avalon site right now. The following things do not work: the archive, the poll, and my ISP's tech support. The counter technically does function, but the numbers mean nothing significant at the moment. I had hoped that my connection would be back up by now, but it's not, so we'll have to keep waiting. :-P

Friday, Feb. 11, 2000
Server problems, anyone? 'Cause I got lots. :-) My ISP blew up on Wednesday morning, and things won't be fixed until tomorrow. Many thanks to Washu for temporarily hosting Avalon for me. I thought I'd just leave Wednesday's and Thursday's comics up there for anyone who missed 'em, and today's comic will show up tomorrow. I apologize for all the troubles.

Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000
[Nevermore]Richard (aka Kheldar), an Avalon Weenie Point recipient for his excellent fan art, has started his own webcomic called Nevermore - an action/adventure with a deep, running plot. Go check it out!

Monday, Feb. 7, 2000
Everyone should be happy that Avalon is back to normal after the weekend. ;-)
Immense thanks go to BigPanda for providing the E-mail this comic to a friend link up there. If you ever think someone would enjoy a particular strip, now you can e-mail it to them right from this site! Go ahead, abuse it to yer heart's content! ;-)

Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000
We've got the results from the latest poll: a good 42% of readers are sick of Regis and his ilk, and don't want to see any more guest celebrities. 24% want to see more guest celebrities, just as long as they're new ones. 23% of readers like Geddy Lee so much that he should return. And finally, Dylan McDermott and Regis Philbin have equally low chances of returning, taking 6% each.
And since Valentine's Day is fast approaching, this week's poll gives you your chance to gripe/brag to the world about your plans!

Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000
The Links page has been updated. Now go read some other webcomics! :-)

Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000
    I have e-mail again. Hooray. :-)
