Since Greg Dean is plugging Avalon on his site, I'm gonna plug his comic on my site. :-) Go check out Real Life, a very witty and brilliant daily webcomic. Only two weeks old, and it's already taken the Internet by storm!
Also, I need to vent... one of my absolute favorite webcomics, Roomies (by David Willis), will be ending shortly. It'll be difficult to get by without my daily fix... I suggest that everyone go check it out before it's gone!
PLUS... I threw together some link icons and a banner image to advertise Avalon with. Go to the Banner/Icon Images section to check them out.

Avalon got 103 hits yesterday... I think this is the first time it's gone over 100 in a single day. Plus, just a few days ago Avalon surpassed 1000 hits total! I know, minor milestones, but I gotta celebrate something. :-) Thanks, everyone!

The archive scripts are still screwy. I'm going to rehaul the whole thing sometime this week.

Nov. 21, 1999
The Cast section now contains all major characters introduced thus far. It will likely be updated every weekend when new characters are introduced during the week.

Technical problems already! Today my server went wonky for a couple of hours, but it's working again (and probably requires a hardware upgrade). Also, the archive script is having difficulty on weekends when there are no new comic strips. This problem does not require a hardware upgrade, and therefore should be fixed shortly. :-)

The Avalon Forum has been opened - go vent your thoughts in a public message board!

Nov. 8, 1999
It's official... Avalon has arrived! Starting today, you'll find a new comic strip here every weekday. I encourage everyone to e-mail me with their questions, comments, or opinions so that I can improve things as much as possible. And tell your friends! :-)

Nov. 6, 1999
I think the site is complete... I've moved the old news items to their own section (see the link just below), and added the Links section (above). All that's left is to wait until Monday, when Avalon officially kicks off. And you'll finally get to see a new comic on Tuesday. :-)

Nov. 5, 1999
I've started advertising... below you'll find a link to bigpanda.net (a massive repository/ranking system for online comics), and the Cartoonists Ring. Regarding bigpanda: I really don't care about the ranking of Avalon, so there's no need to become fanatical about clicking links or anything. It doubtless would be nice... :-) But right now I only care about spreading the word that this comic now exists. So now let's all place our bets on how many people will bother reading Avalon on Monday. :-)
Ah, and there's now a Links section as well.

Nov. 3, 1999
There is now a simple About section up and running. I hope to get some pictures in there soon to spruce it up a bit.

Nov. 2, 1999
I've altered the hit counter down below to ignore my own IP address, so what you see from now on will not include hits from my own site development. This should keep the numbers really low. :-) To rectify that, I encourage anyone who actually reads this to advertise Avalon as much as you can. And hopefully once things get rolling in a week from now, the comic's popularity will rise naturally.
Also, you can now load the GIF file of a comic strip by clicking on it. This should be of some benefit to Lynx users...
Oh, and it looks like I might be adding a separate News section to the site, to prevent what you see before you on the main page. :-)

Nov. 1, 1999
The archive navigation CGI is getting better... you can no longer view comics that don't exist. :-) You'll also notice I changed the comic for Nov. 8... I've decided to do colouring with Photo-Paint instead of pencil shading. This allows me to scan in the pencil outlines with a much higher contrast, hence you can actually read the comic now. :-)
